Cranfield Management Development Centre (CMDC) at Cranfield School of Management had some specific requirements in mind when they were looking for new software to run their payroll of over 300 monthly and weekly paid employees.  The payroll had to do the basic job any payroll software must do.  It had to allow for straightforward preparation of payslips, calculate PAYE, NI and SSP and take into account changing legislation including attachment of earnings and student loan repayments.

CMDC also needed a payroll that had integrated personnel features so it could computerise its employee records and manage issues like absenteeism, working time regulations, and day to day personnel matters more efficiently. It was important too that the company that supplied the software knew the technical in and outs of the product and knew about running a payroll.  Elite Business Services fitted the bill.
