Praxis Mortgage Services has seen its business double in size over the past two years, a growth that their existing accounting solution could not manage. Praxis contacted Elite Business Services to help them with their chosen best of breed solution and are now implementing Access Dimensions from Access Accounting.

Although their current accounting package had served them well, the growth of Praxis made it evident that a more functionally rich and robust solution was required. Finance Director Tony Timberlake explained “we supply mortgage packaging services to brokers in the non-conforming mortgage market.  This marketplace is not only very complex but often requires fast turnaround times.” Timberlake adds “from a case management perspective we have developed a solution that serves us very well, however it was never intended to fulfil our needs for accounting or management reporting.”

Praxis decided to look at the major solutions available. Key to Praxis was a solution that could handle their ever increasing number and complexity of transactions, integrate to their case management solution and provide reports for management information. It also needed to fit their I.T infrastructure, based on Microsoft SQL Server.  Timberlake continues “we contacted local Access Dealer, Elite Business Services, who were able to show us exactly how Dimensions could fulfil our requirements.  We were also re-assured by their nine step implementation plan, aimed at providing a smooth, rapid transition to the new system with little or no disruption to business.  We felt that of all the solutions we investigated Elite Business Services and Access Dimensions best suited our requirements” 

Praxis will be ‘going live’ with Access Dimensions within a month and expect a second phase of implementation to be completed within three months. Timberlake is particularly looking forward to the depth of reporting that Dimensions will give their business managers. “No business can make good decisions without accurate and up to date information. The Executive Desktop Business Intelligence functionality in Dimensions will allow our Managers to know exactly what is happening in detail. The pricing structure of Access Dimensions means that although we require five user licenses for the core accounting modules, we can give many more managers visibility through the Executive Desktop, without additional user fees.”
